Holiday Turkey - Salted Water Brine Turkey

Cook Time:


1 cup Grandpa J's All purpose seasoning.

1 cup coconut sugar

1 chopped onion

1 half clove garlic

1 chopped leek

1 cup orange juice

1 bunch of parsley


You'll need a lage food safe basin for this recipe, large enought to fit your bird and submerse it in water.

Put ingredients into the large basin with some water and mix all together to combine salts and sugars.  Then add that turkey and fill the basin with water to immerse the turkey. 12 - 24 hours is best.

Remove the turkey and allow to rest one hour and then pat dry with a towel to remove all moisture.

Use butter and or oil and massage onto skin and sprinkle with more Grandpa Js Seasoning, then proceed to cook your turkey.

Turn oven to 450. When oven has reached 450, place turkey inside and lower the temp to 400, for one half hour.  Then lower temp again to 350 and start basting the turkey every 20 minutes until it has cooked.

Our turkey was 15lbs and needed 4 hours and 15 minutes.
