In 1995 Jimmy, a master chef in Vancouver steakhouses, saw a food service niche and launched his own seasoning with no MSG added.  When he passed away his nieces, who were food industry veterans, bought the business. During the pandemic they created a retail division and haven’t looked back.

Grandpa J’s is a Vancouver based seasoning manufacturer that specializes in bulk food service seasonings sold across Canada. To save their business during the pandemic, they pivoted and created a retail division which launched in 2021 and has been growing daily with fun social media and immense publicity.  

 

They continue the legacy of their great uncle Jim and honour their own business experience garnered from their family-owned restaurant - Romana Pizza & Steak House – a North Burnaby staple which was in their family for 41 years.

One thing is certain, the food business is in their blood and the pandemic was their silver lining.
